Zunch Brings New CFO to Team Dallas Firm Continues to Build in Post-Bubble Tech Field

Zunch Communications, Inc. of Dallas has added a new member to its Executive Management Team with the recent acquisition of Alan Buehler, who assumes the role of Chief Financial Officer for the web services firm. A freshly created position within the company, the new CFO welcomes the challenge of defining the role of Financial Officer at Zunch. Buehler’s corporate financial experience began with Ernst & Young in 1990, where he worked in both the Dallas office and the National Tax Office in Washington, DC.

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) December 7, 2004 -- Zunch Communications, Inc. of Dallas has added a new member to its Executive Management Team with the recent acquisition of Alan Buehler, who assumes the role of Chief Financial Officer for the web services firm. A freshly created position within the company, the new CFO welcomes the challenge of defining the role of Financial Officer at Zunch. Buehler’s corporate financial experience began with Ernst & Young in 1990, where he worked in both the Dallas office and the National Tax Office in Washington, DC.

A longtime Dallas resident, Buehler earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Texas at Austin and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas. A specialist in the financial and managerial sides of the technology and information industries, Buehler will also be performing other necessary functions at Zunch that will call heavily on his administrative skills.

“In addition to being our new CFO, Alan will also be our new head of Human Resources,” said John Sanchez, President and CEO of Zunch, “And not a moment too soon. We’ve reached a point in our growth where I’m going to have to hang up a few of the hats I’ve been wearing. Alan’s experience is second to none and we’re honored to have him here. We’re managing our growth at Zunch. Alan saw first-hand the bursting of the technology bubble and it will be part of his job to carefully ramp up our growth.”

Stressing his company’s relaxed culture and lack of “corporate red tape,” Sanchez insists that Buehler’s arrival doesn’t signify a change in the Zunch corporate culture. “We won’t be wearing ties anytime soon,” said Sanchez, “We’re growing, and Alan’s appointment is a testament to that fact, but we will never stop blazing our own trail.”

His extensive experience in corporate finance was most recently evident at Ceterus Networks, a venture capital funded telecommunications equipment developer and manufacturer. Buehler was one of the founding employees of Ceterus and served as Treasurer, Corporate Secretary and Controller. Prior to that, Buehler distinguished himself at Iris Labs, Cyrix Corporation and Dallas Semiconductor. Buehler is enjoying the neckwear-free environment of Zunch and hopes to sharpen his Foosball skills.

“This group works hard,” said Buehler, “But they know how to have fun while getting the job done. I’m excited to be here and look forward to helping Zunch grow even more. I was brought aboard to strategize and customize for the future. We’re going to keep building at Zunch, and our continued growth depends on a firm foundation.”

Answer the Phone: Your Identity is on the Line

Beverly Hills, CA -- (ArriveNet - May 06, 2005) -- There hasn't been much good news in the battle against identity theft lately, with fraudsters staying one step ahead of the game. But don't panic, our old friend the telephone has come to the rescue.

We're all aware of the problem of identity theft, but did you know that your local pizza chain has had a solution for years? You recognize it as the system that prevents little Johnny from having twenty pizzas delivered to your door at midnight: the pizza chain calls you immediately after the order is placed to verify the validity of the order. Because little Johnny is afraid to be caught, he'll think twice about causing this pizza-related havoc.

TeleSign's patent-pending verification system has transferred this pizza concept to the high-tech world. It works like this: after filling out a form on a website, the user is prompted to enter his phone number. A robotic system then places a call to that number and speaks aloud a unique three digit code. Once that code is entered into the website, the authentication is complete. This system can be implemented at any point on a website: at registration, purchase, a specific time interval, or at the request of a user.

Email verification is the current standard for user authentication, but email may end up filtered, junked, bulked, or trashed. Because of spam, viruses, and phishing, email filtering has become so aggressive that even legitimate emails don't reach the inbox. But a telephone call cannot be stopped, making this the perfect time for the introduction of TeleSign’s solution.

The future of ecommerce is threatened by rampant fraud and lack of trust. TeleSign will force anonymous users to expose their faces by revealing their working phone numbers.

Zunch Defends Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO)

Encourages More Harsh Email from Critics

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) July 29, 2004 -- The Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO) was formed one year ago to help spread the good news about Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and to provide educational materials about the value of SEM strategies and tactics. As with any professional organization, there are those on the outside who think they can do it better.

Mike Grehan, CEO of his own search marketing solutions firm, Smart Interactive, based in the UK, recently called into question the leadership of Barbara Coll, SEMPO President & Chairman of the Board, and her organization’s practices.

“Mike seems like a good guy and a very knowledgeable search pro,” said John Sanchez, President and CEO of Zunch Communications, a Circle Member of SEMPO, “But I think some of his questions about what SEMPO is doing with his membership dues were a little harsh and not necessarily founded in truth. This organization is just one year old, and Mike, by his own words, chose not to join at first, believing that SEMPO would be no different from other do-nothing professional organizations. When you come at us from a negative attitude to begin with, it won‘t be hard to find fault with what we’re doing.”

SEMPO was formed not to teach people how to properly apply SEM practices, but to educate marketing managers worldwide about what SEM is and how excellent the ROI is when you implement SEM programs. Sanchez believes they are doing just that.

The industry press has also recognized the impact of SEMPO. For instance, seven out of the 10 people in BtoB’s Who’s Who 2004 list in the new Search category are SEMPO members or sponsors. Click on the latest http://www.prweb.com/releases/2004/7/prweb144487.htm [SEMPO] press release and you will see that Barbara Coll is on that list.

“It is our opinion that Barbara Coll has done a tremendous job with her involvement in the creation and management of SEMPO and we appreciate her efforts,” said Sanchez, “We don't have any issues with the way things are being run and have found SEMPO to be a tremendous organization…and much needed. That said, I think Mr. Grehan’s point about there not being a board member overseeing the UK is one we need to look at. As well, Mike’s call to have SEMPO become more of an ethics-standards enforcer and certification outlet are well taken. If Mike wants to be that UK board member or in some other way contribute to our efforts, perhaps he should come to the table and stop standing near the wall. Maybe we’ll see him in San Jose and we can talk it through.”
